The Special Benefit Service (SBS)
The Special Benefit Service processes the claims for reimbursement from the private participating pharmacies (PPP). The Barbados Drug Service reimburses the PPP for the cost of the drugs dispensed to beneficiaries on our behalf.
Beneficiaries of SBS include the following:
1. Persons 65 years of age and over;
2. Children under 16 years of age;
3. Persons, of any age, who receive prescribed Formulary Drugs for the treatment of asthma, cancer, diabetes, epilepsy, glaucoma and/or hypertension
